Frost FamilyGuard

Parental control for Windows PCs, built on a promise the cloud products can't make: your child's activity data never leaves your house. Category web filtering in every browser, screen-time and app controls, and clear parent reports — all stored encrypted on your own PC. There are no Frost servers in the loop, because there are no Frost servers at all.

Planned: $49/year per family — up to 5 PCs Free tier: 1 PC Windows 10 & 11

What's Inside

Real protection, honestly described

The Honest Box

What FamilyGuard does — and what it doesn't

It does

  • Show you which sites your child visits, what they search for, which YouTube videos they watch on youtube.com, and which apps they use and for how long
  • Block by category, list, schedule, and time limit — in every browser on the PC
  • Keep every log encrypted on your PC, under your control, with retention you choose
  • Stay visible: your child can see it's there. It's protection, not spying

It doesn't — and won't

  • No keylogging. No screenshots. No hidden mode. No mainstream family brand offers them, and neither do we
  • No reading inside apps — we see that Discord or a game ran, and for how long, never its messages or voice chat (true of every competitor too)
  • No phone app and no change-rules-from-anywhere portal in v1 — rules are set on the PC; that's the trade for total local privacy
  • Nothing stops a child who has an administrator account, boot media, or a different device — our setup wizard prevents the first one, and we say the rest out loud

What's included (at launch)

  • Frost FamilyGuard for Windows 10 & 11 — Family plan covers all your kids, up to 5 PCs
  • Free tier: 1 PC, core filtering + time limits, 7-day report history
  • Setup wizard that creates the child Standard account with you, step by step
  • 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Email support: frizzlelogger@gmail.com

Requirements — please read

  • A parent Administrator account on the PC, and your child signs in with a Standard account (the wizard creates one with you). This is a hard rule for every product in this category: an administrator child account can turn any protection off.
  • For email reports: an email account that supports app passwords (Gmail/Outlook/Yahoo walkthroughs included in the wizard).
  • Filtering keeps working offline on cached rules; the PC should be online for category updates.

FamilyGuard FAQ

Do you receive my child's data?

No. There are no Frost servers in FamilyGuard. Logs live encrypted on your PC; email reports travel from the PC through your own mail account to your own inbox. The only thing our software ever checks online is whether a newer site-category database exists — that request contains nothing about your child.

Will it work in private/incognito browsing?

Yes. Filtering is enforced below the browser, so private windows are filtered and logged the same way. Search terms and full-page detail come from an optional browser component for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox — without it, you still get full filtering and domain-level history.

My child is tech-savvy. Can they just turn it off?

Not with a Standard account: settings and uninstall need your parent password, the protective services restart each other if stopped, protection runs in Safe Mode, and attempts are logged and can alert you instantly. If your child knows your admin password or has another device, no product in this category can stop that — we'd rather tell you than sell you a fantasy.

Can I approve a blocked site or extra time from my phone?

In v1, requests are decided in the parent console on the PC (an optional same-home-network viewer is planned). You'll get an email alert that a request is waiting. An anywhere-portal would mean sending your child's data to a cloud — the thing this product exists to avoid.
